Yesterday people from around the world were in an uproar about AT&T possibly charging users for FaceTime over 3G/4G networks in iOS 6 and today AT&T’s CEO, Randall Stephenson, replies to the rumor.

“I’ve heard the same rumor,” he said, insisting that for now, AT&T is focused on working with Apple to get the technology stabilized, so “it’s too early to talk about pricing.” – Reported from TechCrunch

AT&T Becomes EvilToo early to talk about pricing?!?

While this doesn’t confirm or deny the rumor it leads me to believe that AT&T has been considering it (hence the iOS 6 beta FaceTime message) and that they are just dodging a bullet for now.

Personally, I still think it’s hogwash and feel Apple should refuse to let this happen. Will that ever happen? Nope.

While some may just “Just switch carriers!”, it’s simply not that easy. As loyal customers should, they have invested themselves and their families into the service and enjoying the luxuries that it brings (unlimited talk, roll-over minutes, etc.) so switching is not an easy task. Bait & switch anyone?
