When I first heard this horrible news about the massive retailer Best Buy I was in complete shock and quite frankly, upset.

Reports are saying that some customers who purchased items via BestBuy.com on Black Friday are JUST NOW getting news that their items have been canceled and will not be delivered…at all. Now, I know that not receiving gifts really isn’t the end of the world but if I purchase something, they tell me I will receive my item by a particular date, my card is charged and they don’t fulfill on their word (especially this time of year) – that’s bad business in my opinion.

Here’s Best Buy’s official statement as relayed to FOX 9:

“Due to overwhelming demand of hot product offerings on BestBuy.com during the November and December time period, we have encountered a situation that has affected redemption of some of our customers’ online orders. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and we have notified the affected customers.”

All things considered…this isn’t good enough. We’re talking about BEST BUY and BLACK FRIDAY – as Gizmodo put it, “Their biggest day of the year, the Super Bowl of retail, the unofficial holiday for shopping.” Simply put, if they can’t fulfil on the orders, they shouldn’t have taken them – there’s simply no excuse.

As I said this isn’t the end of the world but definitely frustrating I’m sure to a LOT of people getting this news right about now.
